Kim Tae-hyung well known professionally as V is a South Korean singer and a member of the boy band BTS.

Since making his band debut in 2013, V has performed three solo songs under their name, all of which have reached the top 10 on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart: “Stigma” in 2016, “Singularity” in 2018, and “Inner Child” in 2020.
V contributed the song “It’s Definitely You” to the soundtrack of the 2016 television series Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth in addition to his work with BTS. In 2019, he released “Scenery,” a song he wrote himself, as his debut independent single. The singles “Love Me Again” and “Rainy Days” were released in 2023, marking V’s official solo debut.

V was born Kim Tae-hyung on December 30, 1995, in the Seo District of Daegu, and grew up in Geochang County. As of 2023 he is 27 years old.

He has a younger brother and sister and is the oldest kid. In elementary school, V had the dream of becoming a professional singer. Early in middle school, with his father’s encouragement, he started taking saxophone lessons in an effort to pursue a musical career. V eventually passed an audition in Daegu and was hired as a trainee by Big Hit Entertainment.

Following his graduation from Korean Arts High School in 2014, V enrolled at Global Cyber University. He will earn his degree in Broadcasting and Entertainment in August 2020. He will begin studying for a Master of Business Administration in Advertising and Media in 2021 at Hanyang Cyber University.

V  experienced marriage at one point in his life not with one of his alleged girlfriends, but with the actress Choi Woo-shik. However, life had other plans for the K-Pop idol, so things did not work out the way he had hoped.
