Bryn Renner is an American football coach and former quarterback who was most recently the quarterbacks coach at FIU.

From 2009 to 2013, he competed in collegiate football for head coaches Butch Davis, Everett Withers, and Larry Fedora at the University of North Carolina. From 2011 to 2013, he started for the Tar Heels.
Renner signed with the Denver Broncos after going undrafted in the 2014 NFL Draft. He later joined the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League (AFL), the Baltimore Ravens, the Tennessee Titans, the San Diego Chargers, and the Pittsburgh Steelers, primarily on their practice squads.

He began attending the University of North Carolina in 2009, and his first year there he redshirted. Renner participated in the MLB tryouts for the New York Yankees before enrolling at the University of North Carolina. Renner, a standout baseball player in high school, initially wanted to play for both the school’s football and baseball teams, but ultimately chose to focus only on football.

He started a few games as T. J. Yates’ backup during his redshirt freshman season in 2010, and then took over as the starter for North Carolina as a redshirt sophomore in 2011. Renner set passing accuracy records for both North Carolina and the Atlantic Coast Conference in his first game as North Carolina’s starting quarterback by completing 22 of 23 passes.

His 7 interceptions were among the fewest among eligible quarterbacks in the NCAA FBS. His best performance came in a 34-39 loss to the Louisville Cardinals, who were led by Teddy Bridgewater, the Big East Conference’s Offensive Player of the Year. Renner threw for 363 yards and a career-high 5 touchdowns on 26 of his 41 completions. Coaches and the media recognized him as All-ACC Honorable Mention.
