Aurelia Jadrny Schwarzenegger, 76, passed away from a heart attack while visiting her husband’s grave in Weiz Cemetery in August 1998. She is interred next to him. In the movie Pumping Iron, their son Arnold claimed that he skipped his father’s funeral.
His son Arnold publicly recalled, for the first time, how Gustav was frequently intoxicated and abusive to his family when Arnold was young in a 2021 video created in response to the attack on the US Capitol. He explained his actions as a result of Gustav and other Nazis’ and collaborators had perpetrated or enabled during the war.
