Jeon Jung-kook known well as Jungkook , is a South Korean singer. He is a member and vocalist of the South Korean boy band BTS.
In the BTS discography, Jungkook has performed three solo songs, “Begin” in 2016, “Euphoria” in 2018, and “My Time” in 2020, all of which reached the top 10 on the Gaon Digital Chart in South Korea. Additionally, he performed “Stay Alive” on the soundtrack for the BTS-based webcomic 7Fates: Chakho. He appeared on the Charlie Puth song “Left and Right” from 2022, which peaked at number 22 on the US Billboard Hot 100. He released “Dreamers” later that year, making him the first South Korean artist to have a song on the official FIFA World Cup soundtrack. Jungkook, the first Korean solo artist to do so, debuted at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, the Global 200, and the Global Excl. US charts with his debut solo single “Seven” featuring Latto in 2023. It also broke the record for the fastest song to reach 100 million Spotify streams.
Jeon Jung-kook was born on September 1, 1997, in Busan, South Korea. As of 2024 he is 27 years old.
His parents and his older brother make up his family. He went to Busan’s Baekyang Elementary and Middle Schools. He changed schools to Seoul’s Singu Middle School after becoming a trainee. When he was younger, Jungkook initially wanted to be a badminton player, but after watching G-Dragon perform “Heartbreaker” on television, he changed his mind and decided he wanted to be a singer instead.
Jungkook participated in the 2011 Daegu auditions for the South Korean talent show Superstar K. Seven entertainment companies made casting offers to him even though he was not chosen. He eventually decided to join Big Hit Entertainment as a trainee after seeing RM, who is now his bandmate and BTS’s leader, perform.
He obtained his high school diploma from the School of Performing Arts Seoul in 2017. He made the decision to forego the CSATs, Korea’s national university entrance exam, in November 2016. He graduated from the Broadcasting and Entertainment Department of Global Cyber University and was awarded the President’s Award, the highest honor given by the school.
Jungkook has always said that he does not want to be married. He also keeps his personal life very private.
