About 80 minutes after the start of his stroke, Robertson was awake, alert, and able to move all of his limbs. He recovered at home before being released two days later.

Robertson founded the Christian Broadcasting Network in 1960 after becoming a born-again Christian. In 1961, the business started airing programming on Virginia’s WYAH-TV. The flagship television program of CBN, “The 700 Club,” a newsmagazine program with music, guests, testimonies, and Christian ministry, debuted in 1966. From 1966 to 1987 and again from 1988 to 2021, Robertson served as the show’s host. He and Jim Bakker alternated hosting “The 700 Club” in its early years.
The first direct-to-cable, satellite-delivered television channel in the US was launched by CBN in 1977 as a religious cable network. It eventually changed its name to the Family Channel and became so successful that it could no longer be maintained as a tax-exempt charity. Robertson as a result spun off the channel into a different business, which News Corporation of Rupert Murdoch acquired in 1997.
